Dynamic Hitting Class

Coach Reed Gamache believes in learning how to be a successful hitter at an early age. This 3 week program will focus on intensive ideas and dynamic fundamentals in order to create young, successful hitters.  To participate in Phase II players must first complete Phase I.  We will have more Phase II sessions starting in January.

3 Week Dynamic Hitting Class
Maximum of 4 Players
Open to players 9-12 yrs old
Dates: 11/25, 12/2, 12/16 (*no class 12/9*)
Cost: $105

Dynamic Hitting Phase II : 6:30-7:30PM - SOLD OUT

Week 1 - Fundamental Mechanics/Hitter's Approach (Tee work and side toss)
-Discussing the mechanics of a smooth swing
-Creating a good tee routine- why it is important.
-Introduction to several drills that promote balance, rhythm, smooth mechanics, and power.
-Thorough understanding of the importance of tee work and how it can lead to better results in games

Week 2 - Hitting Inside/Outside Pitches (Introduce Front Toss)
-Quick review of tee work/side toss
-Learning why it is important to "hit it where it's pitched"
-How to be on time for your pitch while maintaining good mechanics
-Driving the baseball to both sides of the field

Week 3 - Situational Hitting (Introduce Live Arm Batting Practice)
-Putting it all together- by week 3 each player will have a great idea of their swing and how to use it
-Discussion of what your mental approach should be when you step up to the plate
-Making adjustments from pitch to pitch during live arm
-Competing in practice in preparation for games


For those players who have completed Phase I

Week 1 - Baseline Testing and Discussion of Individual Swing Mechanics
        Dynamic warm-up (activating the legs to promote explosiveness)
        Quick review of tee drills from phase I
        Initial testing of exit velocity (how fast is the ball jumping off the bat)
        Front toss with video review and discussion of each players swing
        Quick over hand round
        Explosive exercisese to create more power
Week 2 - Creating your own routine
       Dynamic warm-up (activating the legs to promote explosiveness)
       Players will decide their own tee routine based on what they need to work on (as discussed in week 1)
       Emphasis on overhand batting practice
       Adjusting to faster and slower pitching
       Understanding the importance of being on time for the pitch and how to accomplish this
       Explosive exercises to create more power

Week 3 - Accountability- Independently Performing Your Routine
       Dynamic warm-up (activating the legs to promote explosiveness)
       Players will take accountability for their tee routine and understand why it is helping their swing
       Final testing of exit velocity (did we improve our numbers)
       Overhand batting practice competition. Learning how to compete!
       Explosive exercises to create more power

• 2016 Male athlete of the year at Binghamton University batting .366 with 7 homeruns
• 2016 All-Tournament team and First team All-Conference
• America East Conference tournament champion in 2013, 2014, and 2016
• Played in NCAA regionals at NC State, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M
• Signed professionally with the New York Mets playing in: Kingsport (Rookie), Brooklyn (Short Season- A), and Columbia (Full season-A)
• Began coaching career at the college level in 2018 as the assistant/ hitting coach with the Edenton Steamers in the Coastal Plain League
