On Deck O's Players and Families,

We hope this email finds you all doing well. Based on the new mandates for the State of North Carolina, On Deck will implement the following changes outlined below and must be implemented by 5:00pm today:

Individual and Team Training Camp Sessions - Indoor and Outdoor

PLAYERS - All Players 11 years or older will be required to wear a mask upon entering and exiting the On Deck Facility, Jack Hughes Park, or WCWAA. While players participate in physical activity, they will be encouraged to maintain social distancing guidelines but are recommended to remove their face masks to allow for proper breathing.

COACHES - Coaches will be required to wear a mask while at the On Deck facility, Jack Hughes Park, or WCWAA. Coaches will continue to stress social distancing and will prohibit hand shakes, fist bumps, or any person to person contact. Coaches will remove their masks while throwing BP, Hitting Fungos, and are at least 6 feet away from another person.

PARENTS/FAMILY MEMBERS - Individual and Team Training Camp Sessions will continue to remain closed to parents and family members both indoor and outdoor.

Training Camp Tournaments
It is our current plan to continue participation in weekend tournaments as they have been outlined in our latest Summer Schedules.

PLAYERS - Players 11 years and older are required to wear a face mask to and from any tournament facility. While participating in physical activity, players are recommended to remove their face masks to ensure proper breathing. While in the duguot (if allowed), players are encouraged to maintain social distancing and wear their masks or any other facial covering.

COACHES - Coaches will be required to wear a mask at all times unless hitting fungos, throwing batting practice, or if they experience breathing difficulties. Coaches will be mindful of social distancing protocol when holding team meetings and will continue to discourage high fives, fist bumps, and/or any unnecessary person to person contact.

PARENTS/FAMILY MEMBERS - All spectators above the age of 11yrs old are required to wear face masks while attending tournament games. Spectators are highly encouraged to maintain social distancing while in attendance.

We cannot control the behaviors of individuals in other organizations and ultimately cannot enforce any state regulated mandate, however, we do feel it necessary to think of the greater good. We know that baseball can be played in a safe manner but do worry about the environment off of the field that may be seen as not complying to state mandates and could ultimately result in the shutting down of local tournament baseball. As an organization we are staying true to our values through this entire situation. We are going to continue to communicate clearly and frequently with our staff and family members and are committed, first and foremost, to providing a safe and healthy environment for our players to train and develop.
